    Can’t wait. How exciting would it be if China did to the chip market what they did with electric cars?

    What’s the support for RISC-V like for your favorite distro?

    NixOS has some preliminary support from a handful of people, so that’s a good start. I would expect to have to put in some significant work to daily drive it though.

      I expect we’ll also see a lot of work on making Linux software work with RISCV coming out of China in the near future.

      My favorite distro is Gentoo, which of course being probably the most mature and popular source-based distro, there’s support for various architectures including RISC-V.

    I actually had a double-take - open source. OPEN SOURCE! I mean, yeah, it’ll still have to be down to whoever has production capabilities, but it’s still exciting.
