    It sounds like a good idea, but I’m not sure how efficiently it could be enforced. If a photo of someone wearing a certain brand of clothes is in a news article, does that count as advertising for that clothing brand? What if the news article goes viral?

      I’m mainly concerned with paid for, intentional advertising, but yes, if there’s an obvious brand logo in a news article’s image, then it should be censored in some way, even if it’s just blurred out.

      I’d also think it would be better to create rules and regulations that are as clear cut as possible and almost impossible to circumvent.

      Go after billboards first. I can turn off the TV and avoid websites that have too many ads. I should be able to ignore advertisements in the public space. Clear size limits, don’t allow structures that will only be used for this specific purpose, etc.
