And “the government hasn’t said anything about it to us yet, so we can’t rule on it,” is the most braindead take in the world. So the government can do whatever they want without injunction, so long as they don’t file a rebuttal in court? Lunacy.

Its funny, in a sad kind if way, how slow the courts are 99% of the time. But now that someone wants to invoke obscure laws that deport people without a trail, apparently the court is way too hasty to deny that privilege?
Actually: Just fucking tell me why tren de aragua, a name I can’t spell and have never heard of, is such a threat that you can’t house their people in existing US prisons?
You don’t deport criminals. We never have deported criminals. We jail them until they’re either sentenced and imprisoned, or an agreement is made to extradite them so they can be tried by their native country, or released with the understanding they can’t come back to America.
This farcical bullshit should be called out and everyone in congress should be up their own ass trying to fix this problem. Trump is wrecking the economy and terrorising both citizens and non-citizens.

Like for an analogy, I was playing a game of Mafia on IRC once which had some weird extra rules added.
We were supposed to vote on exiling the Mafia members and someone said “no we don’t have enough information” and I said “there’s one Mafia left and two citizens, if we don’t exile we lose next turn” and he said “no we have to wait” and ran out the clock.
He was Mafia and I lost. (One of the dumber addon rules had converted him mid-game actually)
That’s how the far right is. We say “don’t be racist, immigrants are good for America” and mean it. So they hide the racism to stay out of trouble and then they will say any nonsense to get racism done by other means. Until they have the power to come back out of hiding.

They were literally busing more of them to the airport FFS, if you waited they’d already be out of the country. They already violated one court order to stop the flights using flimsy logic and now you want to add to the number of deportees with no due process by giving them the benefit of the doubt?
