I’m not saying they are the same, just that in the US a large portion of the right is fascist. One only needs to look at speechs by Republicans like Stephen Miller to hear their fascist rhetoric, they hardly try to obscure it in the mainstream anymore.

But its not fascism. Its fascism-like, but its not actually fascism. The obvious dangers of calling out cunts like Miller for being fascist, is that he can easily hand wave it away which thus creates a history from him to say “See, they just call everyone a fascist.” even if/when he does go full mask off.

If you want to call Stephen Miller anything, call him what he is. An Ethno-nationalist authoritarian populist with illiberal nativist and white-identity tendencies. It might not roll off the tongue, or get be an easily clickable buzzword for a karma farming reddit post. But its accurate as fuck, and he cant hand wave it away.

Can you tell me what makes this distinct from fascism? And it doesn’t matter what exactly you would call his brand of ethno-nationalism anyway, his views are racist and genocidal, in the same vein of Nazism and other far-right ideologies, and should be viewed as such.
