This July will be 2 years! It’s crazy. It doesn’t feel like too long ago I was doing the 1 year post

Does the cigar actually hurt you? The description said it’s bad for your health so don’t smoke very often, so I took that as just don’t smoke at all

It really gets confusing where to go, which I both like and don’t like. It’s fun getting lost but man, when you just want to get through the story it gets confusing

Was the original for the PS2? I feel like an idiot kind of now because I thought it was a PS3 game like the 4th one and I’ve never been able to emulate those right

I’m hesitant about this. Majorly so. Black flag is one of my favorites, and while I really enjoyed Shadow’s gameplay, its story was so fucking long and repetitive. The beginning was great and so was the end. But the middle was awful.

I hope they don’t make any major changes to the story. It’s literally the perfect length I feel like

Phone emulators were a godsend before I had my first computer. I had an old iPhone 5 and used GBA4iOS to play through all of emerald. I think the guy who made it is still around, so I owe him a fuck ton of thanks. He literally made so much of my early gaming experience possible

It’s been a lot of fun. I know I’m not as detailed as some of the other people who do similar posts but I just have fun talking about what I’m doing and sharing with others. At the very least I’m pleased in knowing that im introducing people to new things

I might try it out! I’ve been doing a run of Shield in the background I haven’t documented at all so I might try it after that. I might even finally try to figure out VC injects too play them on my 3DS

I’ve considered it a few times. I used to run a YouTube channel when I was younger and really enjoyed it. My Wi-Fi isn’t great though for streaming and I don’t think I have the time for it without getting burnt out fast.

I do have a peertube though where I upload clips rarely! Usually it’s just to share clips with friends but it’s not really a secret. I don’t upload to it a lot because I use Steam’s built in clip function and for some reason i can’t set it to separate Game Audio from everything else on Linux. Plus the Microphone audio is layered over the same track as everything else so I can’t take my voice out of it. I would like to backup some of my stuff there though so I might just upload some of the stuff anyways

I can see it. Especially with the GBA entries

The custom phrases are great. They’re restraining enough to force you to get creative but also has just enough freedom to do some funny things. Just today I put “I MAKE GARDEVOIR EGGS” in.

Torchic has always been my go too since my first playthrough. Something about it really made me want to pick it when I was little I guess. I’ve never been one to nickname my Torchic though until Kenneth here

It’s just basic emerald. I’ve never actually tried any Rom Hacks except maybe Infinite Fusion (and as far as I know that’s not really a Rom Hack but more so a well put together fan game).

Lazarus sounds familiar. I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere else before so I might look into it

My first Pokemon game was Emerald emulated on my phone, so I’m definitely in the same boat with a soft spot

Nintendo’s save protection drives me crazy. I remember back in the day my SD card had some sort of issue and went read only. I had copied just the saves as a backup before it went bad though. So I thought “well. I can just drag and drop them into the save folder, right?”. Apparently not because the system reported them as corrupted

I’ve never touched actually Red and Crystal. I plan too at some point but those generations I’ve never been big on. I almost considered the rereleases because I know my friends would probably shell out the 20$, and having friend to play with would almost justify it for me and motivate me to play it. But I just couldn’t justify the purchase to myself (plus I found out all my friends that are still local are passing on it). Maybe if it ever goes on sale for cheaper, but being digital only and 20$ makes it hard for me to look at it.

Also, yeah, I’m in the same boat with waning motivation. I almost filled out the Hoenn Dex in Omega Ruby but just got overwhelmed when I accidently unlocked the National Dex.

I saw the mudkip only challenge on RA, I kind of want to attempt it once I finish my base game run. It’d be a fun challenge.

I like when achievements act as a checklist, while having a good balance as well of fun little challenges to do. I think a lot of games just either through difficult challenges at you or make them landmarks. It’s hard to find an inbetween game.

I’ve yet to tackle White 2. I did white 1 and completed the Unova Dex, and checked what else I’d need. Immediately saw everything and went “you know what… I’ll come back later”

I might try that. I’m a big fan of rom hacks that are just random shit tossed into a metaphorical sink. So it sounds like fun

My plan is to move my Retro Arch save over to 3DS for PKSM (it’s a godsend for event Pokemon). After that I’ll move them to bank with ORAS or something, and hold them there until I get all the Pokédex entries for the generations prior to Gen 7. then shift them all over (to avoid being tied to a subscription). Then I’ll just set whatever I’m not attached to free.

I might try installing all of them like you do. My 3DS is in rough shape so I don’t use it often (Nintendo really dropped the ball on the New 3DS XL’s outer shell, mine started peeling so easily) but I might refurbish it to play all the games. Having them all be portable would be nice.

Oh shit. I nearly forgot to pick up a copy of Splinter Cell. I saw the sale and the whole series is on sale and wanted to try one
