Meanwhile in famously communist South Korea…

Yeah, that’s a pretty rememberable event

I had such high hopes for flattr and was hoping something would come and replace it.
Hey there, before I was dad, I also was a drummer and I know that a bad knee really sucks. The way I see it you have at least two choices here: Look for a profession that is not so depend on your body being in perfect shape at all times. That’s what I did. Or you can focus on rudiments, playing with your other foot (with a double bass pedal), switch to a softer style of playing or a different genre. Don’t power through the pain! Be gentle with yourself.

I seem to have missed it in the north east and central Germany. Then again, I don’t think I ever heard someone say something other than “Ich habe meine Tage” except for some creepy dudes with skeleton T-Shirts talking about being brave seamen that don’t fear the red sea. Which I always found kinda icky.

I have never heard this expression. Which part of Germany is that from?
I’m dead

Do you want to elaborate?
I am happy for you, but you are also wrong. Yellow is awful.

I’m in my mid-fourties and my brain doesn’t to have received that memo…

I feel you. I took a very low dose of MDMA at a festival and I was euphoric or hight or anything. But for the first time in ever I had no filter issues. All the noises that drive me crazy all the time, just didn’t bother me. Same with touch. It just cured it. For one evening.

A couple of mentions for cocaine here, but for me it was MDMA. I never understood how you could get addicted to anything until I was at the club and I really really really wanted another line of that love powder and immediately decided to never do it again. Then I did it again.

It could get pretty bad pretty fast if you are not careful. Been in the situation a couple of times, thinking “meh. I will push through it”. And then it got ugly. Please take care of yourself and take all the help you can get.

I’m a German that uses an US keyboard with the US intl layout. I think it solves all of my keyboard needs: I have the benefits of the US layout for programming and access to all common umlauts.r RAlt+S = ẞ e.g. https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tastaturbelegung_US-International

And of those 30 people no one said “Are you sure? Because if you are not, don’t do it.” I mean, I believe you, but that’s cruel. There’s no magic instinct thing that will come over every parent immediately, once they hold their child for the first time. And those people should have known this! Still, they encouraged you to do one of the toughest and life altering things possible and promised you, that you would love it. You won’t. Maybe you never will.
But you can still love your kid, even if you don’t like being a parent. I know fathers who didn’t want to be a parent, but they did their best regardless and now love their kids very much. They still loathe being a parent though.
First year is the toughest in my experience. It gets better. It will never get easy. Find other parents with similar experiences. You are absolutely not alone in this.
I was a goth in my youth and they were among the more controversial bands. They could be just edge lords or Nazis. The guys that listened to them turned out to be Nazis, so there’s that.
Maybe a “Death in June” band shirt. Which makes things … well… I dunno. Probably not better.
My father taught me that song as a kid:
Warte, warte nur ein Weilchen, bald kommt Haarmann auch zu dir, mit dem kleinen Hackebeilchen, macht er Schabefleisch aus dir.
But since he went to an English school, he also taught me English songs and nursery rhymes and I am having so much fun at therapy.

I’d disagree. We are definitely not rich. All they ask for, is that you can prove that you are able to support yourself. If you have a job, that’s enough.
Stayed in an probably illegal Airbnb in a Samsung apartment in Jeju 10 years ago. It was nice. Apartment complexes are not bad. We have to them in beautiful Switzerland too. If the building is well maintained and the surrounding is full of greenery, and local shops, and entertainment, then they are a valid option and I’d prefer them over sprawl and cul-de-sacs.
