They don’t provide you any equipment ? Then good. It’s very typical for them to do so.
Heyyyyy at least they failed fast :)
On top of client VPNs you might consider the possible other freebies from yr ISP such as router, WiFi access points and other network elements they provide you with. Set-op-boxes as well. All those equipments are absolutely ratting you as much as possible. Also any software including mobile apps they provide for support / billing / whatever.
I’m terrified that in a not so long future my inevitable grandchild will post some crap like that disrespecting StarCraft 2 and my memory in a crap combo.

News@lemmy.world•Tennessee grandmother jailed after AI facial recognition error links her to fraud
2·24 hours agoDaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. Lemme add this specific occurrence to my list of « why ethical application of AI is in our law »… Between GDPR and AI act I have to say that the USA has provided me most of my examples of nasty shit happening due to lack of protective legislation.

Privacy@lemmy.world•I traced $2 billion in nonprofit grants and 45 states of lobbying records to figure out who's behind the age verification billsEnglish
12·24 hours agoJokes on Reddit censorship aside the post is seemingly solid. Facts are making sense. This kind of transparency exercise would do a lot of good if done of other legislative initiatives. Though I don’t see any call to action and not much would be actionable anyway, it’s all beyond the reach of peasants.

271·3 days agoAs a 80s kid I don’t recall being hyped. If anything all sci-fi books were warnings for us. Younger generations embraced the black mirror shit thought.
Hahaha thanks :) It took forever to reach the stage where I’m proud of sharing the food…
I’m building my own recipe notes based on too much YouTube vids and grandma’s notes. Plus a ton of trials and errors and a few reference books.
I’m from Belgium and these cuts are surprisingly affordable. I’m looking into tails and short ribs as well because they are suddenly both available and cheap. It seems not many are eating those parts.
I think that the cheeks were going for close to 12\kg last time. About the price of mince. It’s dairy cows though so unlikely to be as delicious as meat beef but honestly this is super delicious already as it is :)
Ha man… that’s soooo delicious. I started cooking those as well earlier this year. Tex-mex style, Chinese style… French style with red wine. Such a delicious piece. Also super cheap.

No surprise seeing the right voting for that shit. Tells me all I need to know about the actual motives….

Golang@programming.dev•Contract trap regarding remote work in Europe
3·10 days agoYeah I could NEVER ask for any of that. I’m in a critical infrastructure industry but not healthcare though.
You sure they are not bullshitting you instead of admitting they can’t proceed with you for some reason?

Golang@programming.dev•Contract trap regarding remote work in Europe
1·10 days agoDamn. I’m not familiar with their specifics. Still generally we have strong worker protections this side and crap like this typically isn’t flying.
Some stuff is hard to get like full remote if you’re not within the country though. Asking my guys to work exceptionally on weekends I could see but they can totally tell me to fuck off without any sort of grudge.
It’s true that importing talent is hard though, it can take a while for the whole sponsorship file to be built.
I wish you good luck with the whole process. If you apply in Belgium next time I’ll be able to provide more insight.

4·10 days agoUh. 80k is rather senior. Strange that they are playing you like that. Or 80k was never on the table. Hiring intermediaries are REALLY shit these days, especially those relying on LinkedIn. They straight up lie some. What country were you aiming for? It seems recare exists in half of Europe in a form or another.

Thanks for not calling me « old man » xD
