Fediverse@lemmy.world•LLM-bot activity on question communities?English
12·2 days agoThere are LLMs roaming around here. I do see a few every month in [email protected] and ban them. Just report them and the mods will deal with them.
they can stick their ram sticks up their arses
I have tried Uruky, it is nowhere near as polished or good as Kagi, but at least it is european.
If the search index gets better, I could consider it. But at the moment the european search engines and the european search index it uses are not good enough for daily use, at least for me.
10€/mo for unlimited searches is a bit too high. They could lower the price by selling the AI features under an additional subscription.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•My gf doesn't really notice she plays on Linux or she just does not care.English
363·13 days agoI mean, you don’t really have to do these stuff. I doubt the comment’s author’s friend cares about debloating and privacy.

Rust@programming.dev•Qt Bridges: Public Beta for the Rust Bridge Is Out!
1·17 days agoWell yeah, but I would want to use Qt/QML to have native integration with something like KDE Plasma.
Unfortunately Slint just recently announced that they will be slowly deprecating the native styles except Fluent, which is Windows’s useless and unused style: https://slint.dev/blog/default-native-style-change
So it is quite good to have this Qt Bridge for Rust.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Private community here on the fediverse?English
2·25 days agoWhat do you mean by “private community”?
As in a Lemmy community that is invite only? That is coming in v1.0.0, which shouldn’t be that far away from releasing.
If you meant a private instance that doesn’t federate or federates with a select few, that has been possible a long time ago.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Boys, don't dev alone or you'll end up with a git log like mine
5·25 days agomy private repo is filled with “stuff”, “more stuff”, “new stuff”, “changes” commits.
Well, the way their login system works is by having a bot send you a DM, so it theoretically should work with any fediverse platform that supports DMs.
The canvas can grow, iirc the operator of the canvas can enable multiple frames.
This, for example, was 2024’s Canvas:

Linux@programming.dev•Users of Arch-based distros, why don't you use pure Arch?
3·1 month agoWhile not answering the question, the first “user friendly” arch based distro I tried out was endeavour and I remember going back to vanilla arch after realizing how bloaty it was.
Yes. If you are on arch, it is currently in testing and should be available in the Extra repo in a few days.

Check the network logs. What status code are you getting for the request to change the display name?
