Gicen the risk of locking myself out (have been prone to do that even IRL) I may limit firewalling to times where I have physical access.

Actually, I was wondering:
I have used tailscale, and lately netbird, for remote access and it has worked well for Jellyfin streaming, ssh/rsync and accessing other WebUIs. All with non-default passwords of course.
However I have not set up any of the internal network hardening like OPNSense, VLANs or ReverseProxy. Is it safe to configure these remotely or am I risking locking myself out?

Quick Markdown formatting tip: In most flavours you can add 2 spaces at the end of a line to force a line break. Then you can format your block quotes a little prettier without empty newlines:

That’s a good point. However in the EU it should be the opposite - otherwise the site is violating GDPR.
Sometimes I have a feeling sites do whatever they want anyway regardless of bow many dark patterns I click through to find the “no” and “off” buttons because there are no real repercussions. Just like the “do not track” request and “robots.txt” are essentially useless.
Aah, you are right. Lazy me actually never looked at those. Now I did and it seems to work just fine enabling the Annoyances > Cookie Banners.
You’re right, that it doesn’t just work as conveniently out-of-the-box on Codeberg. However you do not have to self-host: You merely have to apply to get access to their hosted Woodpecker instance at ci.codeberg.org.

In my experience uBlock origin doesn’t really get rid of cookie consent banners/dark patterns. Damn good at bonking ads though.
