Really appreciate people calling these out. Community values are an important differentiator for the fediverse. I hope we will stand together for authenticity.

It’s not for everyone and certainly some applications aren’t available, but I’ve been surprised how well a tablet can substitute for a laptop. Plus I use GrapheneOS on a pixel tablet so it’s arguably more secure than your average linux laptop.
Hijacking but I need to get this out of my system:
I was in a bar earlier and went into an all gender single stall restroom. It had a urinal with an absurd amount of pubic hair on the rim. I couldn’t shake the idea of women seeing it as one of the few urinals they’ve run across. No ladies, that is not normal.
I’ll sooner take to the hills than flee this place. Too much blood has been spilt to give up on a better future.

2·1 month agoDigital solidarity will be essential as we move forward. We will need both social solutions which facilitate community technical support and engineered solutions which make that support more effective. I like to imagine systems of distributed sever management where we build upon the computational capacity of those around us and the human capacity of those that care for them. I want to rely on people I love instead of opaque tech firms that only care about money. Compute power must not defeat humanity.
It started as fuck spez, but I’ve learned the value of opposing homogeneity online and I will never go back.

Saw a car rear end a bike in a bus+bike only lane hard enough to put him on their hood. Guess somehow the bike wasn’t damaged and they decided to just let the driver go. So the driver in the through only bus lane proceeded to turn right across two right turn lanes with limited visibility, followed by another driver turning right from the lane to their left and the two narrowly avoiding a collision. If you’re hit by a reckless driver they need to be held accountable so they don’t hurt others.
Can’t have cleared your orbit around the sun if you don’t orbit the sun.
The number of guys who do this in my local arcade bar really pisses me off. We’re all touching the same surfaces in there WASH YOUR DAMN HANDS.

Interesting that they describe it as epaper-like. Pebbles are widely called epaper, but are RLCD. And I’m 100% with you, RLCD deserves more love. Kinda surprising we haven’t seen more given the color ereader popularity and resolution downsides. Pebble is a good example of RLCD over e-ink. There’s no way the eink of the time could’ve done those smooth animations. Even today it’d be tricky.
