I’m not in the rails community, so this was news to me.
Autocorrect hates me, I am sorry.

EDIT: You can safely ignore most of what I wrote. Rails World is the DHH Rails conference (I am not a rails person) that they sponsor.
I can’t figure out if this is true or not.
They did sponsor Omarchy, and they do still list on their linux support page that they seed hardware to Omarchy, but on their official list of sponsorships (included in the spoiler/hidden block so as not to spam/monopolize the thread) they do not list Omarchy.
So I don’t know what the current situation is, but it does appear they’re distancing themselves from it a bit. They last posted on Bluesky about Omarchy 8 months ago (about when the scandals happened).
Actually: in writing this I realized that Hyprland is also problematic, or maybe they’re not anymore, but they are listed in their sponsorships. So I don’t actually know what that means.

KDE just merged a bunch of rendering improvements for HiDPI displays in their latest release.
I use it on a 2x scale display and it works perfectly fine.
Is Hall effect the good one or like the Nintendo Switch and PS5 that wear out and require replacement?

You can achieve zero bugs through liberal use of rm.

Unrelated, I clicked on their unhinged Trump stores:
“I always like to hang around with losers, actually, because it makes me feel better,” Trump said. “I hate guys that are very, very successful and you have to listen to their success stories. I like people that like to listen to my success.”
What the fuck? I can’t tell if this is insanely self aware or stupid. And of course he hangs out with losers, I think only losers would want to hang around with him.

This looks great!
I’ve been using Linux on desktop for about 8 months now and I’m enjoying it a lot. I could see myself buying a Linux laptop with this battery life.
It’s super cool that you can just buy the parts and upgrade your old laptop with this!

I do want this controller, even if ram shortages make the actual gabecube expensive.

I wouldn’t call it “femcel”, but you may like Super Happy Fun Clown.
It’s about a woman who grows up with the typical millennial “gifted” pressures and then life happens. I wouldn’t say she’s a femcel because the movie isn’t really anti-woman or anti-man, it’s a movie about pressure and disappointment and expectations, and an insane female clown killer.
I think it hits on a lot of the same life pressures/experiences that feed the incel subcultures.

I am once again condemning the UK for building a surveillance state beyond what Orwell could truly envision.

I guess that feels more like something for small/medium businesses than home server.
I actually missed the integrated GPU part as well, as it’s not on their tech-spec list. I wonder what the specs on that are, I’d want something at least that I could use to compute embeddings for file/document retrieval. This iGPU looks like it’s 4 years old, which would be fine for video decode.

Help me what?

At this point who does not know smoking causes cancer? The research is older than my parents.
It’s a fully optional and expensive vice that adults who know the risks partake in. Most places don’t let smokers smoke indoors anymore to reduce second hand smoke risks. Nobody lets kids buy cigarettes.
Alcohol is bad for, should it be banned? How about sugar? People might get hurt rock climbing, should that be banned?
I bring up the slippery slope not as a theory, but because we’re watching it happen in the UK with porn bans, forced identity verification, now criminal prosecution of porn actors, pushes to ban VPNs, and all these vice substances. The UK isn’t at the top of a slope they’re rolling down it.

No, banning adults from buying cigarettes is too far. Sin taxes are fine, but pretending informed adults shouldn’t take care of themselves is ridiculous.
The UK is quickly becoming the largest nanny state in history, where everything you do or watch or eat or drink must be approved by the government.

Lab engineered barrel blight is cutting off supply for brewers.
The king is charging a bubbles surtax.
Yeast is secretly being harvested from goblin tears, and the supply is running low after a goblin jailbreak.

Hitler also tried banning smoking.
You don’t know who you’re dealing with, don’t ever tell me what I can’t do!
DON’T EVER TELL ME WHAT I CAN’T Do!
My music recommendation algorithm recommended me Rebecca Black the other day.
Honestly, wasn’t bad, and much respect to her for getting so much shit as a 14 year old and still sticking with the thing she liked doing. I know she came across as a spoiled silver spooned rich kid so we all made fun of her, but she’s got real spine.
Anyways. There’s also an Among Us OS called AmogOS
Thank you!
When I was a kid we had an N64 game called Ready to Rumble Boxing, and when you got knocked down you could only get up by moving the joystick form left to right really fast. We developed a technique to put our palms on it and smash the thing back and forth which resulted in a lot of dead N64 controllers.
Hopefully future children are saved from characters that only move at half speed and drive in random directions.
