1·13 days agoWeird Fact: This is the film that inspired Octavia Butler to become a writer!
As I was watching this film, I had a series of revelations. The first was that “Geez, I can write a better story than that.” And then I thought, “Gee, anybody can write a better story than that.” And my third thought was the clincher: “Somebody got paid for writing that awful story.” So I was off and writing, and a year later I was busy submitting terrible pieces of fiction to innocent magazines.
The movie’s on Tubi and Pluto (Rifftrax version) if anyone wants to see it.

1·16 days agoWTF is going on over there? The sites are back now, but what kind of glitch causes people to be “randomly” (supposedly) banned like that, and why hasn’t it been fixed?

2·2 months agoThat sounds like a good idea! I thought this was just someone with a grudge until you started talking about the other articles they’d edited. I can’t say for sure if they’re all bad faith edits, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were others besides what they added to the Fediverse article.

5·2 months agoYeah, this needs to be brought to someone’s attention. It’s not just someone adding their personal opinion to the Fediverse article, but they’re also messing up a bunch of other articles, too. I’d almost call it vandalism. OP, maybe you could get together with some other editors and bring it up to an administrator / mods?

2·2 months agoIf there’s anyone here who’s never listened to Gizz and has no idea where to start, there’s tons of “beginner’s guides” out there. Here’s a good one though it hasn’t been updated since they pulled their music from Spotify: https://www.getintogizz.com/ There’s also lots of concerts on Youtube. All of the KEXP sessions are great!

2·2 months agoInfest the Rat’s Nest and Chunky Shrapnel are “name your price” now, too! They were still full price for a while - I think it had something to do with those albums being released through ATO.

2·3 months agoI’m not sure about Roku. I brought up the Fire Stick because that’s what I have, and you were asking about other streaming platforms, too. I suppose you could try loading something on your TV’s browser and see if it works? It’d probably be super clunky but it would do until there’s a dedicated app.

3·3 months agoFWIW, if you have a Fire TV, Peertube seems to work in Silk. Well, mostly. I couldn’t get thumbnails to play, but the video itself ran smoothly on its own page.

BTW, you can register online:
