My prediction is that people will push back, but not enough to make a real difference and most people will just roll over and take it right in the balloon knot
I have a use it till it breaks philosophy, but if the thing breaks and I cannot figure out how to fix it myself (or do not think I can do it safely) and have no repair shop to go to, I do have to buy something new. And I am not ready to live so simply I have no smartphone, computer, or WiFi yet.

This applies to most any electronics. I agree we should use things for longer instead of disposably, but people do need electronics nowadays.
