I’ve been reading a bit on the subject lately, researching it for an erotica piece I’m thinking on writing but all I’ve read tends to be very clinical and towards the warning side.
What does this do for a man? Or a woman, for what it matters. What new sensations does it bring? Does it enhance overall sexual pleasure or is it something that can only be done by itself? Is it taxing to the mind/body?
I’ve noticed it seems to be very associated with BDSM. But can it have a place in a more vanilla context?

I’ve sounded my girl dick a few times and I luv it. A smooth rod is the best thing to begin with. Anything rippled that doesn’t look like it has been polished super well will make stuff hurt. Silicone seems to have a rougher texture and can feel like it gets stuck inside if you don’t use lube a lot and reapply it.
