Preventing damage is the hard part, no one plans for a tree to fall on their house. Maybe if everyone just wears a air mask all the time we wouldn’t have to worry about it.

Asbestos is kind of a wonder material.
Easy to manufacture in complex shapes, inert (acid resistant, so great for chemical pipes), flame retardant, great insulator, and fairly cheap.
Shame that it causes really bad cancer…
