not a Lemmy community, more like a place…

I made a small room in the browser called nojo.club. people leave it open while they work, at desks next to each other. The chat translates, so someone writes in Spanish, someone in Italian, someone in Japanese, and everyone reads it in their own language. The regulars come almost every day and say hi to new people. sometimes someone plays piano or sings in the bar.

Two regulars talked like this the other day (one wrote in Italian, the other in Arabic):

A: Meeting new people was my goal from the start. But I don’t think this is a place to work, it’s a game!

B: It’s not exactly a game, even if it looks like one. You work here, and you have company. Every now and then someone says something, or someone plays or sings. It’s nice to have someone around, even if physically I’m alone.

A: True, me too. Sometimes I work for hours and feel lonely.

B: This is the right place, believe me.

Free, guest entry, works on phones. some hours are quiet. it’s on my profile if you want to look.

The office in nojo.club from above. Avatars sit at desks with computers, others stand near a sofa and bookshelves, a bar with a piano below.
