Weird flex, but okay. I mean, censoring a foreign dub of anime because it calls out something bad a country did in a fictional story accomplishes what exactly? Especially when people who watch anime are generally more inclined to be aware of the genocide. It’s not like anime is being watched by clueless soccer moms who drive minivans and listen to Fox News all day.

What they’re saying is, they’re telling people who know better that they don’t want fingers pointed at their ally, even in a fictional sense.

Also, like I said the last time this was posted (that I saw), a bunch of anime uses Germany with a different name. And anime fans were quick to rush in and point out that the fictional country in the fictional story is called something else, so therefore it’s not “really” Germany. And that’s fair — it’s not. But it’s a reference and it’s pretty obvious. Calling it a different name doesn’t change shit. We get it. Those who don’t want to get it or don’t want others to get it can pretend it’s fictional.

Just enjoying the idea that there’s a Latin dub of Ghost In The Shell, presumably for consumption by public school students.
