Hi, I’m Vlad, the solo developer of Mealumo, so this is my own app and I’m posting it here because this community is for things people made.

The idea came from my own habit of quitting food logs after a few days. Typing every ingredient was the part that broke it for me, so in Mealumo you take a photo of the meal (or pick one from your gallery) and it suggests the ingredients, portions, calories, protein, carbs and fat. Then you check and edit everything before it’s saved. A photo can’t see the oil in the pan or how much sauce went in, so I spent most of the time making corrections quick rather than pretending the guess is always right.

Beyond the photo: daily calorie and macro targets, food search, water and weight logging with a trend chart, and recipe ideas.

To be upfront about the things this crowd usually asks:

  • iPhone only (iOS 26+), and the app is in English.
  • It’s not open source. The meal photos are sent to an external AI service for the analysis, so it needs a connection.
  • Free to download; PRO is a subscription (weekly, monthly or yearly) and every PRO plan starts with a 3-day free trial.
  • It’s a general wellness tool, not medical advice.

If you’ve tried photo-based logging before, I’d love to hear what made you stop using it. That’s the problem I’m still working on.
