I have another question about this. I just read that the 20yo female copilot was texting her boyfriend minutes before this event telling him she was encountering ice buildup and turbulence. Why would she be texting anyone when her full attention should have been given to the plane? The only outside thing she should be communicating with is the control tower.

Having seen the horrific video, which looks something akin to a missile strike, im surprised this needed to be announced.
