I didn’t vote. I checked the results today, none of the races were close enough that my vote would’ve changed a damned thing. Saved a useless trip, go me.

If both parties weren’t controlled by billionaires then they wouldn’t be donating to both parties.

Still, I vote anyway because why not? Especially with mail-in voting, it’s barely any effort or time.

Yeah I don’t get the people who refuse to take a side and say that neither party is perfect. On the one hand you have people who have done some bad things, and held some wrong positions. On the other you have the literal Epstein Regime. Even if we don’t 100% agree with them, we must all support the Islamic Republic of Iran in their struggle. Criticising them right now is counterproductive. After they’ve glassed every Epsteini base in West Asia, we can try to push them to adopt better positions.

pffft, both the same? no, no, no.

you generally get to pick between an oligarch and a corporatist.

but you should still make a choice. just know that once a country is completely run by oligarchs, there are only two paths: tyranny or revolution.

In many cases the money being spent isn’t to influence the outcome, that has already been decided by gerrymandering, and all the other fuckery that goes on. The money is spent to influence the candidate and their actions after winning…

Just a reminder that dems had a very thin (~5%) majority in congress and -15% minority in the senate in 2020, so maybe don’t complain about do-nothing dems when Americans are the ones who keep voting the fascists in.

If people who posted this shit spent their time and energy during the primaries telling people it’s a dumb fuck decision to be voting for politicians who support genocide and blocking strikes we’d all be a lot better off. Those people are our biggest obstacle. We cannot mount a strategic offense against fascism with these people undermining our efforts in every primary. Regardless of our opinions on the success of third way politics it is time to admit it’s lost to Trump twice and something needs to change.

“Better dead than red” “vote blue no matter who” stuff like this and then some remind me that what really matters is the local elections hitting the local communities as individuals. Don’t vote for corporate horse shit or corporate horse shit (inclusivity plus version), vote for somebody with proper values, not someone who’s going to use a rallied financial position who will rip the rug anyhow.

So what am I supposed to make of all the huge billboards, text and phone campaigns, professional advertisements, and pushing by companies like Google telling me to vote?

…unless of course they were spending that fortune to keep you engaged with an electoral system they have total control over and away from things that might actually threaten their profits like general strikes and civil disobedience.

If there really were material differences in the governance of the country under the two parties you’d be able to lost actual examples instead of posting shit-tier memes about the vibes of it all.

God the cynicism in this thread is depressing.

You know why your vote doesn’t matter? …because you talk yourself out of getting of your lazy ass and using your vote.

In California, there’s a billionaire tax to make up for federal health care funding cuts.

Guess which side democratic governor Newsom is on.
