I don’t have a good track record with sunglasses. Scratch them, break them, lose them, get super glue on the lenses (latest pair 🙄). So what’s your recommendation for a decent budget brand where I can get a) good vision, b) polarised, c) UV rating?
Bunnings or Mitre 10 usually have sunglasses that are also safety glasses for about $15 a pair. Just bought a couple of pairs of 3M ones there, they are rated to block 99.9% of UV, not sure if they’re polarised though. They seem to last a couple of years
I buy my sunnies from NZ Safety. Impact resistant, scratch resistant, comfortable wrap-arounds for less than 20 bucks.
Hardware chains like Bunnings, Mitre 10 do these too
I love Shady Rays sunglasses. They’ve got plenty of different styles, all their lenses are polarized, they’re not too expensive, and, if there’s ever an issue, they will stand behind them and will ship you a new pair for free. I wore a pair with mirrored lenses to the beach this summer, and the salt scratched up the mirroring. I filed a claim online, and they sent me a brand new pair for free. The kicker is, if you lose or break them, they will send you a new pair for just the cost of shipping, which is usually less than 9 bucks.
I’ve got more pairs than I want to admit, because they keep coming out with cool new styles and lenses!
Are you NZ based?
Oops, I am not. I guess this post popped up in my All feed, and I didn’t realize what community it was.
All good, cheers
