Mark Carney is often described as a disruptor prime minister, and this explains, to many people, how he managed to beat Pierre Poilievre in 2025. Canadians wanted change from the status quo and from the Justin Trudeau Liberals, and, until Carney came along, Poilievre was the only candidate offering it. Against Trudeau, Poilievre was unquestionably the disruptor candidate—the guy who was going to fire people, repeal things, bulldoze through Ottawa’s gatekeepers, and drag the country into something new, whether everyone was ready for it or not.

Yeah listen guys were not falling for the bullshit propaganda. Carney is the reason we aren’t already dismantled with governor pollivere vent over a barrel for his daily report to orange daddy.
The guy is intelligent and qualified. He’s obviously an arch-liberal and a true believe in neolib bullshit. He’s obviously a capitalist. Guess what, so is our country and most of the people living in it still want it to be capitalist, for whatever reason.
I have every reason not to like or trust this guy, and yet I find myself willing to give him a fuckload of leeway so long as we continue to move further from fascists.
He can hang himself with all the rope we give him if he wants. I’m willing to let this one ride because honestly, seriously, ask yourself what the other options are at this juncture.
Not what you wish was true, not the perfect candidate for you. Who else could realistically be steering this ship right now that would be more acceptable to you?

The propaganda is that they want you to believe you always only have 2 choices. In 2011 , NPD won 103 seats out of 308 in the House of Commons. Partie Quebecois had only 3 members in National Assembly after the 2022 election now they are projected to have 52 seats
The title is provocative and misleading, but the body of the article frames it as ‘dismantling’ in a good way. The sort of prodound change to the US imperialism status quo that we need right now.
Like sure I don’t like that he’s privatizing stuff but the article definitely didn’t say Carney bad.
I have a friend who is pretty communist, and is supporting Carney for now. His reasoning is that the capitalist hellscape will continue to exist for the foreseeable future, and he would prefer Canada be on the top of the pyramid than to continue to support an even more evil regime as a brick at the bottom.
Your friend sounds pretty pragmatic.
