Are they racing?
Midwestern Horned Megasnail
Hey dear, I see what you did there.

Isn’t it obvious?
The great horned snail!
Obvious? Since when scientists give obvious names? It might be “brown-headed mountain snail” or “Dark Hay Devourer of Doom”
Since when scientists give obvious names?
May I present to you, the red-winged blackbird, which is easily identifiable as it’s a black bird with red wings.
Wait wait wait, slow down. Can you say that in plain language? None of that science mumble jumbo?
Less obvious is the red-bellied woodpecker of North America, which has a large cowl of red on its head, but is named for the rusty brown-red belly, and should not be confused with the red-headed woodpecker which has a solid red head.
Most animals were not named by scientists…
Did a scientist name horses, cows, cats or other older animals?
Lineaus: Am I a joke to you?
