They equivocate between these two tendencies, but always with language that places the emphasis on fighting communism. It is not “Fascism is just communism of a different color,” it’s the reverse. You’re supposed to think of how evil the commies are, not the fascists. Strangely, everyone who speaks this way lives in a country where communism is marginal and fascism is just the water they all swim in.
Unfortunately, radlib and ultra-left socialists are insanely common in Poland. I only knew three socialists that actually thought that China (and other AES, except for Cuba) are real socialist countries. Rest of them parrot very common western talking points and constantly try to prove that their socialism is not totalitarian and evil, like the one in USSR
