These companies are way too big and powerful
Our government should be doing stuff like this for everybody. These are the taxes i want to pay
Maybe it will end up under different ownership through time. Meta has a lot of cash though… probably not going anywhere.
First step: Find a country with a navy competent to defend your undersea cables.

There are already multiple cases of Russian trawlers breaking cables¸ gas pipelines, etc.
I’ve never had a reason to hope for a localized undersea earthquake before…
Are these cables just for use by Meta properties, or will they sell access to other orgs?
Apparently Google (or maybe Alphabet?) also has a bunch of undersea cables. It looks like those are for just by Google Cloud customers (and presumably) Google itself.
