    Are they trying to look scared shitless to undermine the whole farce, or do they actively want to create a martyr? Those are the only two options that don’t require a room temperature IQ.

      Nah, if they were running, they wouldn’t be making a violent example out of Saint Luigi. They’re trying to cow the peasants but showing what happens if you try to stand up to them. I hope they fail, and I hope the optics of this completely backfire.

        They’re trying to make a violent example of him because they’re running scared. They’re terrified of copycats. They think that projecting an image of fearless anger will distract from the fact that they’re always looking over their shoulders.

      Well, he entered a guilty plea, so that part is fairly open-and-shut. Of course jury nullification isn’t out of the question, but really this case is most likely to come down to a question of sentencing.

      Edit: He didn’t plead guilty.
