I haven’t used yt-dlp in a hot minute, but it used to have a simple bypass for age-restricted videos that didn’t need browser cookies. Anyone know if that still works?

Been using that one for years without any problems. Users should be aware though that it uses third party proxies by default that could potentially log which age restricted videos you’re watching.

The script won’t work without a proxy, but if privacy is important to you, you can host your own and replace the default proxies with it. Your own proxy would require a verified YouTube account though, so it kind of defeats the purpose if you were trying to avoid creating such an account in the first place.

I use BravePipe on android. No account needed. Also can include Bitchute and Rumble if you desire.

Long ago i was building a front-end for YouTube. Back then it was just a parameter to the video in the embedded iframe. So my front-end was playing all videos without any account or being logged in.

Since the plugin works, I guess it just toggles that parameter too. Not sure why Google doesnt require an actual login but they dont (or didnt).

Bunch of services out there offering Free SMS Numbers for 2FA. You might also try searching “Burner SMS”, but anyways, there are options.

For one I trust? Never actually used one, sorry. I’ve used faxburner, for faxing, without issue, but it doesn’t look like they offer SMS.

Would using these service be a risk if you lose access to such number?

burner SMS. Burner dummy Google account strictly for age-restricted content. I don’t really see what’s to lose?

Also, you can turn off 2FA, so the number is only “needed” if you forget your password and/or lose access to the backup e-mail.

              I see, notes.

Wouldn’t Google tie the dummy account to your KYC’d account tho?

I mean, finding ways around that is the whole point of Posts like this one?

Personally, I use different browsers for different purposes on a rando Android phone(+vpn for torrents). I watch this community to try to stay abreast of current privacy/security issues, but I don’t make much effort to live it, as I’ll go dark long before I’ll really have anything to hide.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go bitch at the librarians again, for disposing of the microfiche after they digitized it.
