I guess “never again” is a saying that only applies to Jewish people and no one else
Just to clarify, Hancock ordered an abandoned village to be burned:

Oh, thank goodness. I thought we did abhorrent things to a sovereign population for a minute there.
Yeah I was about to leave a trail of tears all through my house
Ah yes paper. The one thing in human history that was never used to tell lies . . . glances at bible
I think I need to take another break from this bullshit

(lemmy dot world account, what a shocker)
I have a Lemmy world account, but I don’t understand what the issue is with that? I just used the first one I saw since I didn’t really understand that there were different versions of Lemmy.
Sorry, I’m just exasperated with the “well ackshually” bros. There’s nothing wrong with having a .world account, but that’s where a lot of the worst redditbros migrated to, so whenever someone shows up with a bad take it’s usually someone with an account on that instance.
The instance also has moderators and admins who tolerate queerphobia, racism, and other forms of bigotry, which is unfortunate. A lot of people have left the instance for that reason. I personally refuse to interact with any community on .world because of what I’ve seen.
and what circumstances caused them to abandon that village?
The point is that burning empty tents so that the people that were chased out can’t come back is still something to be angry about. Worse history doesn’t have to be made up, there’s plenty to be angry about with what really happened.
The OP suggests that there were Cheyenne Indians in the burning tents. I merely point out that the historical records indicate that this is not true. Please do not read anything further into my comment.
Next time before you comment, perhaps you can ask yourself if this distinction has any bearing whatsoever on the fucking point of the post (it doesn’t)
Rat infestation.
