"A review of leaked data from Meta, provided to us by company whistleblowers, shows that Israeli companies since 2023 are finding it increasingly difficult everywhere around the world to attract new customers, leading to advertising-cost increases in the billions.

We also just posted the translated audio of an extraordinary interview just given by former Israeli PM Yair Lapid, who is often discussed as a more humane, centrist alternative to Benjamin Netanyahu. Give it a listen and see if you agree with that label."

A crazy idea to be sure, but do you suppose if Israel stops its genocide against the people of Palestine, proceeds to take measures for restoration, complies with the International Criminal Court, and pursues a two-state solution it might help matters for their businesses?

Just a crazy thought about doing the right thing. I know…

It’s weird; it really is like they’re taking the “melodramatic Galadriel” approach to geopolitics - that is to say, “ALL SHALL LOVE ME, AND DESPAIR

You’re right. Imagining that Israel would ever comply with international law or abandon its long-term goal of colonizing the entire region is indeed a crazy thought.

Zionists and their lackies in the West are attacking our fundamental freedom of expression and assembly. The only real power we have left is consumer power.

Download “No Thanks” or “Boycat” and steer clear of brands that enable genocide.

    Boycott israel and it’s enablers.

Idk what to do about my Sodastream and addiction to carbonated water. And my frugalness and desire to be eco-friendly. And not wanting to house a giant tank of CO2 at home.

You’ve already got it, don’t throw it away. Put some Palestinian stickers on it. Get a relatively small tank of CO2 at home, with an adapter to refill your own canisters.

Haha that’s what I’m thinking. Can you recommend that parts? I only seen pieces for connecting the machine to a big tank.

There’s a few different ways to configure the connection, and you’ll want to make sure you are getting the right adapter for your particular bottles.

Sorry, that’s aliexpress. If you have the blue label gas bottles, you can search for the same items on fleabay or scamazon.

I’ve been burned by Aliexpress in the past, so I’ll see where else I can get them. I have the pink quick connect bottles. Maybe an independent website has something.

Drinkmate is honestly a similar-but-better design, speaking as someone who moderated Reddit’s sodastream community for years. And I think most users of that subreddit would agree with me. Sodastream just has better marketing and all the market share so it has become the “Kleenex” of the category as the first one anyone thinks of and often the only one they even can name.

My bottles need renewal at the end of the year and I’m tempted to throw out the whole system.

Biggest problem is finding gas canisters without their logo plastered on them.

Assuming North America, you can get standard Sodastream->CGA320 “direct connect” adapters that let you hook the machine to a standard CO2 tank of any size (it won’t fit inside the machine but I don’t consider that a functional requirement). Similar adapters are made for other regions I just don’t know their specific sizes and terminologies.

You can just replace the tops with a generic version and refill yourself. Takes two seconds and a vice grip. Did it for my mom, and got her a big food grade CO2 tank, and now she’s set for years.

Lapid said returning the Israeli captives should be the immediate priority, even if it requires ending the war — a move he admitted “no one wants” because “we want to keep killing Hamas.” He emphasized that the “annihilation of Hamas” must remain a long-term goal and said Hamas would “sooner or later” provide Israel with “opportunities” that would justify renewing the assault in the eyes of the international community. On Iran, Lapid positioned himself as more hardline than Netanyahu, arguing Israel should have struck both Iran’s nuclear facilities and oil infrastructure after the April 2024 missile attack, even over U.S. objections.
