Climbing goat designs just announced their stitch-along for next year https://www.climbinggoat.co.uk/products/periodic-table
And I’m so on board and was going to order her pack with fabric, but the new horrible EU rules makes it almost impossible for small UK businesses to export to EU.
And UK stores are the only ones I know of where you can get interesting fabrics.
Do you guys recommend any good EU fabric stores that ship to other EU countries?
I’m mostly into evenweave but don’t mind linen and aida.
I started ordering from a small German online shop (sorry in advance, all links will be in German). Here’s a list of the shipping conditions and countries.
I found it via this site https://lmaa.space/ which allows to search for smaller and more specific alternatives to large online shops like Amazon.
Edit: I also found this Webshop (also seems to send from Germany with DHL and UPS) but I never ordered there.
I accidentally lied a bit, I know 1 not UK store that has a somewhat decent stock of fabrics, and it is stickteufelchen from your first link, (thank whatever power in the universe for in-browser translation, as i did not pay attention to German in school)
They have quite fast shipping to Denmark and carry mostly zweigart which is my preferred brand, so they are my preferred EU fabric store.
But if you compare them to Lakeside Needlecraft they do end up seeming a bit bland. https://www.lakesideneedlecraft.co.uk/lakeside-needlecraft-fabric-221-c.asp
From a quick look, Rico doesn’t seem to have anything stickfelchen doesn’t have, but thank you so much for looking it up for me!
And I look forward to having time to get a good look at lmaa and see if there is anything interesting! Thanks for the link!
Brexit was auch a stupid idea…
I have one last addition that seems to have a slightly bigger selection than Stickteufelchen: https://laridae-quiltingshop.de/sticken/stoffe-zum-besticken/
Thank you!
There is definitely somethings I’m gonna need from there!
But I guess the best solution to my problem is to just earn enough money doing my day job, to start my own embroidery fabric store, so I can buy/sell exactly what I feel is missing in the EU market 😂
Oooor you just place one big order per year oooor you travel to UK every now and then.
But if you ever start your own business, let me know! :D
