I work at a large corp in the US that uses “Agile” , and we track our “Stories(tasks)” on a kanban board that is reviewed daily during our standup meeting.

This meeting is run daily by our scrum master who is a nice enough guy but provides absolutely zero value to us or the org in general. All he does is ask each person in the meeting how things are going. After sharing your updates he asks if you have any road blocks and then moves to the next person.

You can tell he is non technical and has no idea what you are talking about when sharing your updates. I could say " I replaced the flux converter on the plasma conductor" and our scrum master would say “thanks for sharing, any roadblocks?”

When he is out of office we of course run the same meeting without issues. In short: This guy is on pay roll to say " X how are things going?.. Thanks for sharing. Any road blocks?" Is this normally the only job requirements for scrum masters? If so, that may be the easiest job on earth.
