I realise your post is rhetorical, but I am sprinkling some knowledge here for those that need it; fwiw, here are good places to start looking for opportunities abroad:

    • look for immigration short lists per country, e.g. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/skilled-worker-visa-immigration-salary-list/skilled-worker-visa-immigration-salary-list - note there’s also unskilled work included in these, notably carers on the separate (see link) healthcare list
    • https://europa.eu/eures/portal/jv-se/home?lang=en
    • short stays/stepping stones/staying mobile:

    Maybe it may help someone…

Hi, I’m french and, while I would genuinely love for my country to be a safe space for trans people, I feel like I should warn you: things here are not as bad as in the US but the far right is progressing real fast and I’m quite afraid that they’ll pass in 2027. We (the leftists) are fighting the best we can but the media and our government are definitely inclined towards the far right already. Feel free to save my handle to get in touch if you move to France, I’ll be happy to help and share some info and advice. Best of luck

As someone who lived in France for a couple of years a decade ago, in sorry to hear that. I loved it there and would move back to France in a heartbeat if it was feasible.
