He’s not out. He got promoted to “chairman”.
There won’t be a return to form, because they’re no longer the underdog. The Sprint merger and some repeated missteps by Verizon and AT&T have left T-Mobile in a much more dominant position than they were in 10 years ago. Capitalism doesn’t breed innovation on it’s own, you need competition for that, and T-Mobile no longer has reason to compete. Heck, the companies that were bringing some form of competition (like Mint Mobile for example) have also been bought up by T-Mobile.
