This guy is as smart as my 5-year-old nephew who completely believed me when I told him babies grow on trees.
Imagine thinking that being in Mensa means that you’re an authority on anything.
Your stepdad is a dweeb that paid money to get a certificate proving that he is good at shapes and colours class.
Is that all it is? I keep hearing about it but no one ever explains what it actually is
Edit: I mean I know what Mensa literally is, i meant more that I don’t understand what their tests are measuring
It is almost entirely pattern recognition. Look up the Cattell Culture Fair Intelligence Test if you want to know more.
There are a lot of baby leftists in DSA, especially on the DSA right. In my chapter we are currently dealing with growing factionalism where we have a new caucus that rejects reading any theory of any kind to inform the work they are doing. They have no coherent goals behind “doing the work” as if that’s all we need to do to win power. That’s only half of the equation imo.
It’s actually fucking insane. Meanwhile my caucus is out here trying to push for a coherent, unified program within DSA so we aren’t like hundreds of small organizations working loosely under the same banner, all backed by theoretical and practical understandings of how you build worker power to push back on this bullshit we have going on in society today.
Surprise surprise when the group of actual studied, ideological Marxists have a better vision and path forward in mind.
They have no coherent goals behind “doing the work” as if that’s all we need to do to win power. That’s only half of the equation imo.
Probably because “fuck reading books lets actually do something” sounds right in their head. And in mass media thats the way the “hero” functions. Due to a pop-history understanding of like revolutionary/civil rights movements, which seemingly suggest, that to achieve success means doing a lot of big flashy actions after another. The truth is a lot of boring work, planning, and even “manufacturing” the “flashy act”.
Like Rosa Parks did her famous act of resistance in accordance with the women’s political council, and after 15-year old Claudette Colvin resisted in the same manner, months prior.
best system man has come up with to date
I mean if you are the one profiting off the exploited labor and don’t feel bad at all about the millions who must suffer or the consequences when fascism inevitably results, it’s pretty great for you specifically
slaps the hood
This baby can kill a biosphere in 300 years.
Unironically disclosing yourself as a mensa member would be more embarrassing than listing your reddit trophies on a dating app. I regularly confuse them with NAMBLA and it doesn’t even matter.
[Ringing the Albert Einstein Opinion on Socialism Button]
We should tell peoples to read this more often.
Unfortunately it doesn’t work, libs refuse to read anything we link them
True, but it might work for peoples that are alienated by the established order, typically marginalized minorities, and peoples in the process of being radicalized.
“My daddy told me capitalism=good! checkmate tankies!1!1!1!1!!!”
People really do put way too much importance on IQ tests…
In my language mensa is simply the word for cafeteria in a school. So its strange to see someone using it as a means to brag,
Not smart enough to educate his stepkid well, I guess. Otherwise you would at least quote Churchill directly.
Oh wait, I was thinking of Ha-Joon Chang paraphrasing Churchill. Get fucked, me.
Ah, but my uncle was so smart MENSA was scared of him and wouldn’t let him in because he would make them all look dumb by comparison, and he said capitalism is bad. He also works at Nintendo and gets me games before they come out, but I’m not allowed to share them.
Are they still just allegations at this point?
“I eat dirt you tell me not to but did you consider that I am very smart and you’re not?”
not to be that guy, but this seems like bait. no dsa member would say this in seriousness
