As of October 19, there have been a lot of movements and protests across the Philippines after the flood control scandal, and hatred towards the comprador dynasty politicians have increased.

It started out as the September 21 protests, but now it’s growing, the kurakots (greedy) are more exposed than usual and the Marcos Gov. has been trying to co-opt it and supposedly address the issues. Now, of course, we have the Akbayan and CPP statements on it:

https://philippinerevolution.nu/statements/historical-significance-of-the-september-21-protests-and-prospects-beyond/

It’s interesting to note that there are the more hardline Anti-Marcos-Duterte leftists like Makabayan, and the ones that are more liberal like Akbayan in their statements towards the resignation of Marcos Jr. himself and the violence against the police (known fascist tool of the state to suppress the left through NTF-ELCAC and other red-tagging ways)

Though, Makabayan is an interesting case, I can’t find any one statement or blog about the rallies and protests, but they generally follow the CPP in analyses and goals (Makabayan is the legal way, making sure the CPP’s ideology isn’t red-tagged to oblivion) The few posts I have found are usually supporting the anti-corruption protests without any specific critiques about the movement itself, focused on the message.

Anyways, it’s been a while since then, and I’ve been catching up on what has been happening, there’s bound to be more friday and sunday white ribbon protests (from Akbayan) and the Nov. 30 big one, (Ka Bonifacio’s Birthday!) organized by Makabayan, Akbayan and others, as they have protests almost weekly building up to it while political maneuvering in the ICI, and etc. happens.

So, with that context (might be wrong on some, please correct me if I am so) what do you think of all of it?
