I have a fairly old smith and Wesson msa gas mask I was given several years back and I want to know what all I need to check on it before I use it to make sure I didn’t miss anything

The actual rubber on the mask is not dry rotted or stiff

None of the hard plastic or parts of the visor are cracked

The o rings are all still in place and not dry rotted

Did I miss anything important or not really

Other question, is there any good way to put glasses into your mask without a fancy custom mount

Filter has been opened but not used but I wanted to check the mask portion first before I considered ordering replacement filters

*not used for a gas attack, it was open when a family member gave me the mask years ago and I understand that that reduces the efficacy of the filter

I did some checking and it looks like a single o-ring is missing but I have a bunch so I can probably find a fresh one in the right size to replace that section and other than that from the research I have done it should be fine

I am gonna reply my own message to avoid extra edits, I may need to get a new one anyways because I am not sure if the filter standard is the current nato one and they dont make these filters anymore, I may check at a surplus store nearby but other than that I may be out of luck
