It sucks because they definitely were lied to and given unrealistic expectations as kids but as the saying goes “it’s not your fault but it is your responsibility.”
If someone is over 30 and still using that excuse it’s because they’ve done nothing to better their situation.
I get that shit happens and people get delayed but whatever that is usually becomes the focal point and not the gifted program.
