Cosplaying to be anti “American Tech”, then kissing the empire hand for blessing.

This is called “neoliberal euro syndrome”.

    Stop. Capitulating. To. Trump.

It’s hard enough fixing this shit without the rest of the world empowering the far right. (And stop yelling at us to fix our mess when your governments keep throwing shit on the pile. This is your fault too.)

I sort of get why governments and their leaders keep playing nice with trump - they want to keep trade flowing smoothly.

But isn’t it a worse long run strategy to do this no matter what? Seems to me that they are exposing weakness which could hurt them in future negotiations. Not that any future, sane-minded world leader would ever implement tariffs again.

    Exfuckingscuse me motherfucker!?

Antifa is considered a terrorist organisation in fascist America. What the fuck is a European country bending over to them for!? This is a violation of our sovereign rights! Has the Netherlands forgotten why we’re trying to get as many of our services to be euro-centric, or open source?

    Jeezis christ!

Sovereign tech is when the US asks nicely for a server seizure in your country and you hand it over.

Italy is the cum cleaner, literally.

Personally i am thinking to go full anti-tech, unplug myself from this dark future that is being cooked while everyone is watching and no one is fighting back.

      Fuck this.

Look at ASML and Nexperia. The Dutch government bend over and take it all the time. That happens when politicians have no spine and follow the lead of that cunt Mark Rutte. The one who called Trump ‘Daddy’.

Well, based on what I’ve read, - the “Dutch disease” is already a common term, and in this case ASML is like oil, they mostly employ foreign nationals and don’t contribute much to Netherlands’ education system or anything, but bring revenue.

Anyway, doesn’t seem to be anything specific to any specific country, it’s just that the kind of people who want to do this, can. Spirit of the time.

At the same time please remember how there were excuses all over the place to do such things against “far right”, that not being formulated as literal Nazis. Any kind of law-abiding conservatives (that is possible) have been pressed out from acceptable public discourse, so only trash that doesn’t care remains.

I mean, OK, shouldn’t really blame the public, of what I remember, that concept of what is “far right” and “toxic” and unfit for humanity was mostly a corporate policy in 2010s, so the very same people. The worst decade for public discourse honestly, I’ve recently realized that I’ve just forgotten how bad that really was, the stage of humanity where the most respectable and trendy people are teenage wh*res in Instagram and corporate shills in corporate ads.

And It’s important to remember this, feedbacks work, it’s better now. The wheels of history turn slowly and all that.

I surprisingly agree, just keep in mind that sometimes those nice people, even if they don’t approve of Stalin, would honestly say that you as you exist are of a wrong class background and behavior and should be reeducated or put down, if you’d ask them in a right way. No fault of yours but still needed if a revolution, ya knaw, takes place.

And since some of my ancestors have been subjected to institutions doing that, more of “put down” than of “reeducated”, while not even being contrarian to said ideology, I’d say I’ve had enough of their niceties before meeting them.

If they are ancom/ansyn and recognize intersections between that and ancap, then welcome.

And don’t give me that bullshit about Stalin and Lenin not being far left, because, well, all the left in the world were their followers until roughly late 70s, when that started coming out of fashion, left propagandists living in mansions in western countries while receiving orders from USSR started causing suspicion as members of intelligentsia, so to say, and Khmer Rouge casted a bit of a shadow, and that Big Leap in China couldn’t be well explained from utopian point of view, and USSR’s economy and culture started visibly stagnating compared to the picture of the 60s (which surprisingly coincided with a moment of rebirth when many people still believed in communist ideas, or believed that those could be cleaned of Stalin and repressions), while those leftists generally didn’t care how Soviet people really lived before 60s, which is funny, because for USSR itself 70s were its pinnacle of development, when some of the utopian promises really materialized en masse for a huge portion of the population and not just in propaganda for westerners. Unfortunately they didn’t know where to go further from that, and while the average citizen realized they’ve become almost like a normal person, the average nomenclature family member realized they want more than what they had, and institutional strength is clearly incompatible with that.

“You’re confusing actual leftists with the most successful tradition of Leftist political thought, which is highly diverse and continues to guide multiple States and movements today”

This is how these people sound. Obviously there are lots of things we can and should criticise about various ML projects. But this knee-jerk dismissal of an entire terrain of leftist thought, along with a general fetishization of failure, and refusal to engage with the complexities of governance, is intellectually lazy and unbecoming of “real leftists”.

Lenin’s foundational principle of the Vanguard is explicitly antithetical to Marxism, imo. You cannot impose a revolution of the people onto the people, that is just new tyranny.

MLs are not left, they are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

You are criticizing authoritarians, an inherently right wing status.

If i read the source from NRC correctly (I’m dutch), the disks were already wiped. I think this is a matter of not letting a small incident irritate the orange monkey too much. Let’s keep that when it actually matters. Not getting some wiped disk with noting on it.

That still creates a procedural precedence. That means small orgs can get paralyzed from any US whim if they don’t have the means to quickly transfer their servers.

Now the US can ramp up the effort, asking for another server, and another, hey, here’s a list for now. The next one is coming in 3 days.
