In an April 3 interview with The Guardian, Kaczmarek said that the production wanted Sullivan to reprise Dewey, but he’s putting his master’s degree studies at Harvard first.
“He’s studying Dickens and is an incredible student – they offered him buckets of money to come back, and he just said: ‘No thank you,’” Kaczmarek told The Guardian.
Thanks! I just saw a video with them talking about it and this wasnt even mentioned at all lol. I wasnt the biggest fan of the show so its been a long time since i saw the original, i had no idea this was even a thing. I watched it all and had no clue, but again im not a diehard and its been probably 10+ years since seeing the original. I also think replacing was necessary considering the theme of the show and what it led up to.
