Still unemployed after 7 months. Reading a lot for future skills, but the software development market is dead right now. I sent hundreds of resumes, and companies either don’t bother to answer, or give negative responses without an explanation. The job offers are opened, then closed, then opened again, it seems like they don’t know who or how to hire. It’s boring and annoying at the same time.
I’m starting to think I should become a freelancer but I have never done that before.
Definitely give freelancing a go. Don’t use websites / apps that claim to be freelancer marketplaces, they’re all overrun by people from low wage countries. Instead, find companies in your local area and approach them directly. Approach not as someone looking for work but as a business looking to create a partnership with another business.
