people ask me how my weekend was, i tell them I did a 30mi bike race in the rain, it was so great but I was covered in 5lbs of mud, and they just look horrified and stop talking to me.
they wanted to know what i thought about the football game or if I tried a new restaurant, and now they think I’m mentally damaged and avoid me at all costs in the break room.

I dunno man, personal health and upcoming surgeries are pretty high up as well.

Not even like objectively weird. Just that particular group has (apparently) shown they are not receptive.
Stop doing things your friend group has shown they don’t appreciate. And, if those things are important to you, then find a different friend group.
