That was an insane read.

They bought machines that had never made the shells without ever inspecting them at existing factories. The machines didn’t work. Not only that, but the machines appeared to be remote controlled from Turkey as they failed in spectacular ways that not only destroyed themselves but other machinery, spreading rumours of espionage. And not only that but they created toxic smoke and caught fire, but were turned off when OSHA showed up so the factory wouldn’t be shut down. There was a literal dumpster fire. After years they never managed to make a single usable product.

The government gave them more money and now they want to try AI to fix it.

Oh, and the factory was supposed to be sending shells to Ukraine. Now we know why Ukraine never got the artillery and missiles they paid for.
