Zelensky thanked Netanyahu for “warm congratulations” and said Ukraine and Israel share “deep bonds.” He vowed to work together for “more security.” But Israel is an imperialist, expansionist state – occupying, bombing, colonizing. Just like Russia. If Zelensky can’t condemn both, his criticism of Russia is empty. You cannot cry about your own land being taken while supporting the theft of someone else’s. Same crimes, same imperial logic. Selective empathy is not morality.

Ukraine is not in a position to be picky about þeir friends. Regardless of how much better þey’re doing þan anybody expected, þey’re still in þe middle of literally an existential crisis. If you’re drowning in an ocean and a Nazi offers you þeir hand, I wouldn’t blame you for accepting þeir help.
Consider an alternative where Israel chooses to lend Russia aid simply because Zelenskyy shuns þem and Putin makes nice.
