Arsenal : First time?
What does the goals column signify?
Botafogo really bottling it at the end there, 4 loses and a draw for their last 5 games, ouch.
L
How do people in the US watch Brazilian Serie A?
Botafogo absolutely bottling the league
This title race and relegation battle is INSANE.
Bragantino have Botafogo and Flamengo back to back, two crazy games.
How do people feel about RB Bragantino in Brazil? Do they hate them like Leipzig in Germany or not really care?
Indiference is the right word, but as we hate the rivals more i think neutrals would pick them to win the title race as they aren’t great rivals for anyone
much rather them win it than Palmeiras or Flamengo
Most people feels indifference mostly because Bragantino is from a City with 170k people and has a very small amount of fans, some people call them an “artificial team”, but the only thing they really changed was the team’s logo and added “red bull” in front of the name, apart from that it’s the same team, in the same city and stadium and the same fans… they just just a decent management now.
Yes, the difference between Leipzig and Bragantino is that Bragantino had some history in Brazilian football before Red Bull.
Bragantino had already won 1 Série B title in 1989, 1 Campeonato Paulista title in 1990 and was runner-up in the Brasileirão in 1991.
This reduces the feeling of an artificial team.
Fun fact to foreigners: Red Bull tried to create a team from scratch in Brazil called Red Bull Brasil. It didn’t make it out of the bottom divisions hahaha. Brazilian football is ruthless.
Red Bull Brasil is weird because they had some good campaigns in the Paulistão, which is a pretty difficult tournament, but they were trash in National Divisions. Also, it still exists, but it’s called Red Bull Bragantino II now.
The lower national divisions of the Brazilian championship are some of the hardest tournaments around: you got to travel thousands of kilometers to cities that have no airports, play in absolutely terrible stadiums in awful heat… and while in Europe you would expect the competition to be awful, as the clubs have no money, you got to remember Brazil forms a metric ton of players.
Campeonato Paulista is difficult, but there was a time (I don’t know if it’s changed) when the rules were crazy and could cause some distortions in the perception of teams’ strength.
From my part, indifferent. I really dont care about them, but id much rather having them as champions, than botafogo or palmeiras.
Our clubs are so poorly managed that we think RB can set a good example on how to do things correctly. We don’t really care about they being an artificial team, we have more important issues to deal with, like very bad football pitches.
Most competetive league in the world and it’s not even debatable
Top 5 league in the world and I’m tired of pretending it’s not
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a league leader with under 60 points after GW 32 for division with 20 teams. I don’t know if that’s good or bad still
The fact that continental spots + relegation account for the majority of the table makes this league insanely tense, Everyone always has something to play for.
One of the best systems too. Everyone’s fighting for something over there
I followed the league a bit when I studied in Brazil and ever since I occasionally take a look at the table and each season it is a different team being at the top or bottom. Feels like almost anyone can win or relegate.
Is 36 year old Suarez playing with 1 knee going to carry a newly promoted team to the title?
Best league in the world!
My idolo Ramon Diaz pulling the impossible with Vasco, his magia Cuyana is insanely strong.
Tbf Vasco squad improved drastically on the midseason window and they were definitely underperforming before. But Díaz is doing very well!
I see their score since Payet arrived is 6-3-3 so sort of a great escape, but looking at the stats he hasn’t been too impactful
Vegetti was their most impactful signing of the season, their season completely turned around when they got a number 9 capable of scoring.
It was actually quite impressive how many goals they missed every game lmao
Barbieri should’ve been jailed for what he did to Vasco in the first half of the tournament, currently Vasco is top4 in the 2nd half table, but the first half was so fucking awful that if Ramon Diaz were there before i belive they would be fighting for a Libertadores spot with Athletico or at the Very least eating some popcorn with Flu and São Paulo
I saw Botafogo vs Fluminese live a few weeks ago and WOW Bota dominated and were on a different level, how they are bottling this is crazy
Fluminense didn’t really have their minds on this game though. They have been on very lousy form in the league, totally focused on winning Libertadores (and, well, it worked)
So many teams who can win the title, the ending’s gonna be crazy
And also so many teams with chances of relegation, its insane.
I already accepted that this will be another title for Flamengo, I just hope Palmeiras manages to get a G4 finish.
MENTAL.
