Hello all. I have an interest in linguistics and in American dialects in particular. Thus, I would be grateful if you would be willing to share your opinion on whether the women from the clips below sound to you like born and bred Americans, or whether you would think that at least some of them are foreign-born:

I suppose it’s pointless to try to convince you that these are real people, not AI bots, so instead let me ask you an honest question: how do you distinguish between bots and real people, and what criteria must one meet to qualify for the latter category as far as your perception goes? There are, admittedly, a lot of scammers out there, but, nonetheless, not everyone is a scammer, and one wouldn’t want to operate on the assumption to the contrary, so this question warrants serious reflection.

Hope for the best, but assume the worst. Ergo, my prior response.

Besides, I couldn’t answer that question properly anyway as each particular situation is unique.

I thought the first two had accents different than I’m used to hearing, but not in a way that would make me think they were foreign, just that they hailed from some part of the country where I haven’t heard the accent.

Something about the way the third one said “Ireland” at the beginning sounded a bit foreign to me, but the rest of her clip did not. If I weren’t listening for it even the Ireland thing would not likely have jumped out at me.

In summary, all three sounded like native speakers to me.
