In Japanese, it’s ピンポンダッシュ which is a transliteration of “ping pong dash.”
Could also just translates to Pin Pon Dash. Pin Pon is Japanese onomatopoeia for the doorbell sound.
I guess, but that would be the transliteration of the Japanese onomatopoeia as “pin pon” afaik doesn’t really mean much in English. I thought with “ping pong,” we at least associate with the sound.

Canadian here, we call it ding-dong-ditch where I’m from. Never heard of that other one.
Nicky Nicky Nine Doors or Ding Dong Dash were the only names I heard as a child. Never played since we lived in a rural area and too much distance between houses. My cousins in the city talked of it though.

I’ve heard of most of the ones mentioned in the comments, but this one is new to me (Western U.S.).
My cohorts called it (n-bomb) knocking. Glad I never participated in it with them.
I did, and I called it that. Grew up in the middle of Arkansas and didn’t know any better. I learned better eventually, and I regret things I did and said back then.

It was called knocky door ginger when I was growing up, and ive since learned that my neck of the woods boasts the highest percentage of variation in shades of ginger hair in the UK.
Had to search “ginger” to see which variations would be mentioned here.
