I’ve noticed recently that while I support Ansar Allah in their struggle, I don’t really understand what they are. Honestly, the most I know is that they’ve been under siege bar genocide by the Saudis for decades and the more recent Red Sea and Hormuz war closure sagas, but aside from that nada.
And all the background knowledge I have is from like a decade plus old video on the topic that I watched while in school… From I think Vox (the journal, side note are they even still operating? what were they even? Libs?) so my knowledge is rather non existent
Where is it possible to make recommendations on Prole Wiki? As I think it’s pertinent to point out that the Houthis are a specifically Zaidi Shia group, as opposed to Ithna-Ashari (Twelver) aka Jafari Shi’ism, which is what over 90% of Shi’ites are.
This might seem irrelevant, but Zaidi Shia, Ismaaili Shia, and Jafari Shia, (as well as Alawites and Druze, but they are not considered Shias though they have roots in Shi’ism) are all quite different in their core beliefs concerning political leadership interpreted through their theologies.
