I am getting more into sleep health and want to better understand my sleep habits so I have been looking at the Apple Watch.

If I spend the money on an Apple Watch I want to also be able to use it all day but I am realistic in that I know it has to be charged too.

I am leaning towards the series 9 but see that it is good for about 18 hours and then needs about 1.5 to get a full charge.

What are your routines to use your watch all day but also be able to get good sleep data?

TIA

I have the Ultra 2. I just charge it while I’m showering every day. Sometimes I’m slow and I get to 100%, other times only 90%. When I wake up in the morning, I always have more than 70% left.

I don’t have any particular power savings enabled. I have the always-on display turned on, and keep the watch “alive” for 70s instead of 2s. I work out for about 45 minutes a day without any power-saving settings. I interact with the display somewhat regularly (always checking on my stand credit).

Basically, you will not have any battery life problems.

I have the SE and can wear it for 2+ days without a proper charge if I just charge it when I shower in the evenings. :)

I charge my s7 fully up before bed, sleep with it on and use it all day, after 23h it goes back on the charger with around 30% left. No workouts or anything else like active use of cellular or any apps. So if you will use the watch more actively it might not be enough but for me it is great!

No offense, but I don’t believe people saying they get two days out of the normal Apple Watch. Maybe if you have the display off and never look at it. What’s the point of having it then? Also, every battery gets worse over time. So if you maybe get a full day and night out of it now, that might not be the case in a few months.

I’d say, get the watch you want and incorporate charging times into your daily routine

I bought an Ultra specifically for the longer battery life. Sleep tracking has helped me become a better sleeper.

Bought an S9 on Black Friday after some time wearing Casios now I’m back. I also bought it for sleep tracking and regular use - I rarely do workouts, so I know that takes up a lot of battery life.

So far, it’s lasted 2 days on one charge. I normally don’t let it die completely, since I like to have enough juice to wear it at night. It’s got raise to wake on and I’ve tried to turn off somethings that will drain the battery - if anyone has any tips on what drains, please help me here, sometimes I really don’t know what to turn off, lol.

And it charges quite quick I think, about less than an hour it’s good to go. Don’t be fooled by the ‘faster charge’ on the 8 and 9 models. It’s literally 15’ faster on a charge than the regular one, it’s really a joke, if you ask me. A ‘faster charge’ would be like 30 minutes vs an hour imo, but it is what it is.

Overall it’s an all day watch really. Apple Pay is absolutely perfect and blazing fast, watch faces are great, all apps I need work perfectly well, the larger screen is great and the S9 is a good watch if you wanna track your sleep, since it’s not uncomfortable to wear at night.

I have a series 9 that I use for all day and all night tracking. I charge it while I shower or while I’m making/eating breakfast

    S6 gives me 30 hours

Charged 60-90 minutes per day. Usually lives around 20-80% never hits zero, seldom hits 100%

Used for daily workouts for maybe an hour, sleep tracking, and basic tasks. Often used to pay for things, find quick directions, or do maths.

If my s6 with 94% battery life remaining can do this comfortably, basically any ‘current’ watch will be more than capable.

That 30 hour lifespan really is that sweet sport for daily use without having to think too hard about it.

I am still rocking a Series 4. I wear it all day. It charges for about 20 minutes before bed. Put it on for sleep tracking, charge it the next day while I’m in the shower.

I have Series 7. I charge it once day at morning while I am getting ready for the day. This also includes a workout session and sleep tracking.
