Do you think this was a dig at her friend Frida?
Frida was gone by then. It is probably a dig towards Dorothea Tanning and her style of painting.
Oh cool I didn’t know about her just looked up some of her work. I think you might be right it has similarities.
while Frida was technically part of the same social circle - her health issues more or less kept her at a distance with everybody - she was like a mythic figure emerging from the shadows every now and then. really sad because she only started getting momentum by early 50s and then it was all over.
