Personally I find it incredibly likely purely based on the EU’s decision making. If EU institutions aren’t controlled largely by American assets… why would they keep making decisions that benefit the US and hurt the EU?
At least several high-profile EU officials also have very close familial ties to American officials or businessmen.
They’re either foreign agents, or grossly incompetent. Not all, of course, but a good number.
As for Russia, I’d say it’s way too weak to have anywhere close to that much influence over a richer, more powerful, more populous territory. I’m sure it does have some, but nowhere near that level.
There is plenty of high profile legislation in the EU, the US absoluteky hates, if the US had had its say there woukd be no Gallileo, at all, there will be no Iris2, etc. The US also hates many regulatiry decisions by the EU and it hates most rulings by the EU judicative.
Non of tgem shozld be the case if it were as dominated by the US as you say.
What is of course correct us that the US does have influence, so does China and other major blocks.
I dare to say that EU’s growing independence from the US is part of the hostile approach the US has walked for the past decade or so.
It didn’t start with Trump and didn’t stop under Biden.
